A. Weyer Russell A. Weyer, 58, of Romeo passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008 at his home. He was born April 25, 1950 in Almont the son of Ralph and Maxine (Muma) Weyer. He graduated from Almont High School in 1968. Russ worked at the Schriber Farm in Thornville then came back to Romeo to run his own farm where he continued to work until now. He was very active in Lapeer County 4H beginning as a child showing his own dairy cattle. He was a leader since 1994, member of the council for several years and swine superintendent for three years. Also active in the FFA, Russ held a state farmer degree, was a member of the alumni and was awarded the Star State Farmer award in 1968. He married Connie Ecklund Wise in 1992. Russ was known as a loving, caring man, always eager to help anyone and anytime. He is survived by his wife Connie, his children Robb of Imlay City, Rachel of Romeo, Rebekah (Brandon) Bertram of Marlette, Sarah Wise of Romeo, Ralph of Marlette, Russell of Romeo and David Wise of Romeo; grandchildren Brian Jr. and Kaline Mulholland, both of Romeo. Also surviving are his brother Jerry (Eula) of Brown City and sister Charyl (John) Young of Wisconsin, one aunt Helen Blair and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Ruth (Endicott) Weyer. |
